Who qualifies for Safaricom sh 20 a day smartphones

Safaricom launched a program in partnership with Google that will enable customers get smartphones on credit at ksh 20 a day paid for up to 1 year.

The move dubbed Lipa Mdogo Mdogo is to increase internet use among Kenyans especially during this COVID-19 pandemic when most is being done online.

The partnership is set to give out over 1 million 4G internet enabled smartphones to qualified customers.

The target people here are those using feature phones, 3G smartphones users and any customer who would like to have an extra 4G enabled smartphone.

But, who really qualifies for the 20 a day smartphones? Safaricom said that to qualify, a customer must;

  •  Have used a Safaricom line for more than a year.
  • Be between 18 years and 75 years of age
Customers who have unpaid overdue loans especially from Mshwari, KCBMpesa, Fuliza, Okoa Jahazi or Okoa Bundles do not qualify for the sh 20 a day smartphone offer.
