National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) has announced that according to the current data, the insurance corporation covers close to 40 per cent of the Kenyan population.
This is good number according to NHIF and shouldn't be taken for granted. Health insurance uptake is improving if this is the case.
To be exact, 39.33 per cent of the Kenyan population are NHIF insured, 5.47 per cent are privately insured while 54.2 per cent are still not insured.
With enhanced good quality services NHIF believes the remaining population will join the insurer and enjoy the benefits too.
NHIF provides hospital bill funding for both outpatient and inpatient cases from approved healthcare facilities all over the country.
