One of the oldest financial brand ,Barclays Africa Group, today officially announced change of name to Absa Group Limited following a major drop in share stake by the former parent company, Barclays PLC.
Absa ,a South African headquartered finance company which has been in existence for around 30 years, will have up to mid 2020 to have fully rebranded all present Barclays bank subsidiaries in African nations.
Barclays had presence in South Africa (as Absa) Zambia, Kenya,Tanzania, Uganda ,Mozambique ,Ghana Botswana, Mauritius and Seychelles.
Barclays Bank branches will therefore continue functioning under the same name till changes come in place after a time span of two years from now.
No much changes will follow apart from the change of name. Functionality ,products ,services , employees will remain then same and operational.Don't worry about ;
- Bank account numbers
- Credit and debit cards
- Cheque books and cheques
- Mobile and internet banking
- Bank branches
- Bank Agents
Its only the brand name that will change thereafter.
