Safaricom through the Safaricom Foundation launched Wednesday a Maternal and Baby Healthcare Initiative as the company continues celebrating 20 years of service in the country.
The initiative is targeting 6000 mothers and their newborn babies from 26 healthcare centres all over the country.
Safaricom has set aside ksh 25.2 million for the initiative ,an amount which will be used to buy packs that will be availed to the mothers and newborns.
The telco on Wednesday started distribution of Mother and Baby packs at the Coast General Hospital in Mombasa County. The same also happened in Murang'a County.

The pack distribution in Mombasa was launched by Safaricom Chief Customers Officer Sylvia Mulinge.
