This move is meant to protect pupils, teachers and any other people within the schools from contracting COVID-19 and also curb spreading of the disease among the same people.

KCB is going to distribute the face masks to the needy across schools in the whole republic.

"We are paralyzing the reopening of the institutions to ensure a seamless process as well as guarantee the sustainability of the resumption of studies noting that the virus is still here with us" ,said KCB Group MD Joshua Oigara as he was presenting some of the face masks to Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha at Olympic Primary School in Kibera, Nairobi.

KCB has in addition to the face masks initiative, set aside some good amount of money to support students, teachers and private school owners with affordable loans to help int the easy reopening process.

"This is one of the all-round initiative which we have rolled out which include a financial support mechanism to boost schools operations. This will enable both public and private schools to access loan facilities towards complying with the health guidelines set by the ministries of Health and Education," Mr. Oigara added.
