Ths CBK Governor Dr Patrick Njoroge hosted a post-MPC Meeting conference today in the afternoon to address the media.
The Governor revealed that most Kenyans really reduced Bank branch visits and transacted through the available alternative channels as recommended during the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to the recorded data, 94 percent of all transactions were done outside bank branches. Only 6 percent of the transactions happened in bank outlets.
Before COVID-19 only 88 percent of the transactions were being performed outside the bank branches.
There was also an increase in the number and value of transactions mobile transactions which rose from 44 percent before Corona to 61 percent during the Coronavirus pandemic.
