Equity Group Foundation in Partnership with Mastercard Foundation will be giving 14600 Secondary School and TVET scholarship beneficiaries a monthly stipend to cushion them against the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The lender disclosed that the students will receive the stipends from June all through August to help them buy food and other personal items where they are during this COVID-19 lockdown.
Out of the 14600 beneficiaries, 13800 are Secondary School scholars while 800 are TVET students.
The bank announced today that in addition to the monthly stipend, 13800 Secondary School both Wings to Fly and Elimu Scholarship beneficiaries will each receive a solar powered radio, a lamp and a charging system during this time of lockdown to help the students access learning lessons as aired through government radio and TV stations.
