The three Credit Reference Bureaus (CRBs) will have to remove a majority of Kenyans from the blacklist as ordered by the Central Bank.
Metropol CRB, Transunion CRB and Creditinfo CRB were directed to remove defaulters blacklisted as a result of failing to repay loan amounts below ksh1000.
CBK on Tuesday 14th April announced new regulations affecting how the CRBs are going to be collecting borrowers' information a move to safeguard the Kenyan consumers.
The CRBs were also ordered to stop collecting borrowers' information from lenders not licensed by the CBK including digital lenders and Credit-Only companies.
