Tala the mobile lending giant has announced today that it is quitting lending services to its loyal customers in Tanzania.
Updating customers, the lender through its official Tala Tanzania facebook page wrote;
We regret to inform you that Tala is not currently offering loans in Tanzania. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you, and we wish our loyal customers continued success in your financial journeys.
Customers with outstanding balances can still make a payment. Follow the “Initiate Payment” action via your SIM Tool Kit. Use Tigo-Pesa paybill number 888000 and the phone number registered with Tala as your account number.
Tala is also providing quick and affordable mobile loans to residents in Kenya, Mexico, India and Philippines.
In Tanzania, Tala gave loans of up to tsh300000 through Vodacom Mpesa or Tigo pesa the two established telcos in the country.
Tala opened offices nearly two years ago in Tanzania and has over 100000 customers using its loan services.
