Hivos partnered with Heva Fund last month to finance the Kenyan Creative Art Economy. The move occurred during the 14th version of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTD) meeting in Nairobi in mid July.
The partnership which also include other players like Forum Syd,United Nations Development Program(UNDP),Ministry of foreign Affairs and East Africa Trade and Investment Hub aims to amplify the contributions of the creative economy and industries towards the achievement of equitable ,inclusive and sustainable development in Kenya and the East African Region.
The partnership will spread over kes150 million allover kenya ,targeting creative economic businesses including; wood/stone carving, photography, artistic drawing,fashion designing, singing, songwriting, poetry, dancing among others.
Hivos and Heva fund expects to create over 300000 jobs in a single month from this month on for a year.
Beneficiaries will have access to financing and Entreprenueral trainings.Application for the funds can be done through the Hivos website( hivos.org) or heva fund website(hevafund.com)
