Higher Education Loans Board (Helb) will now start giving out education loans to Kenyan students studying in the diaspora.This is a statement made by his excellence President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday while addressing varsity kenyan students in India.
Since inception, Helb have been financing needy but bright students who join public universities before covering even those joining private universitiesin kenya later on.
The amount of the loan disbursed was in the range of between ksh45000 to ksh60000 for government sponsored students and anything above ksh60000 was awarded to self sponsored students.
Students both in Kenya and studying abroad can now apply for the funding through the helb website located at helb.co.ke.
