Stanchart,NIC Promises Complying with Gazetted Banking Law

Standard Chartered Bank(Stanchart) and NIC bank have vowed to effect soon the new gazetted banking law in rendering its services to kenyan consumers of their banking and credit products.

Lamin Manjang,Stanchart CEO,has today through a press release,has announced readiness in complying with the new law from 1st September, 2016 as per the directive by the CBK and KBA.

NIC bank on other hand has communicated to its products consumers through social media,that the lender is ready in complying with the new CBK and government banking law.

In compliance with the Banking (Amendment) Act 2016 (Interest Rate Bill), we will be adjusting our interest rates for both new and existing customers. We will notify you on the process and new terms in due course as we engage with the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) on the implementation.
